The main objective of PACHELBEL is the development, trialling and operationalisation of a tool called STAVE (Systematic Tool for Behavioural Assumption Validation and Exploration), which will be designed to support the work of policy-making for sustainability in real-world settings.

The tool will support processes of knowledge brokerage, promoting the appropriate application of existing research findings, and the generation of new knowledge which is focused on specific policy objectives

 4th Consortium meeting,
In October 2011, the PACHELBEL consortium met in Stockholm (Sweden)with the aim to discuss among project members on the progress of the scientific activities. Policy makers group met also to discuss the STAVE implementations in each country, including comments on progress/difficulties concerning the twin activities.

 Preliminary set of stimulus material available! A set of stimulus material divided in two parts has been prepared to facilitate the group-based process for the trialling phase of the Pachelbel project. The first part consists of three short questionnaires, which aim to serve as a comparative tool between countries. The second part is country specific, and consists of a newspaper article that integrates real or simulated media coverage and/or documentary materials produced by various sources, scenarios, vignettes, and dramatised accounts.  PACHELBEL SYMPOSIUM
In June 2011, a symposium entitled “Project PACHELBEL: Learning about, and supporting, policy making for sustainability in Europe” was organized at the 2011 Annual Meeting of the Society for Risk Analysis Europe.

 3rd CONSORTIUM MEETING
In March 2011, the PACHELBEL consortium met in the city of Paris (France) with the aim to operationalize the so-called STAVE tool (Systematic Tool for Behavioural Assumption Validation and Exploration). This tool will support the work of policy-making for sustainability in real-world settings. Throughout the three-day workshop, researchers discussed the best way to apply the STAVE tool in each national case-study.
